About Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy means the use of hypnosis for the treatment and relief of a variety of bodily and psychological symptoms. It aims to make real, lasting change by removing unwanted thoughts and behaviour patterns from your unconscious mind and re-educating it to the way you want it to be.

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation achieved using a variety of relaxation techniques. Once in a state of hypnosis, the conscious critical mind can be bypassed allowing positive therapeutic suggestions to be made to the unconscious mind. All our habits, emotions, memories, behaviours and attitudes are stored in our unconscious minds which are susceptible to positive suggestions for desired change.

Hypnotherapy is a valuable therapeutic tool and is not to be confused with stage hypnosis used for entertainment purposes.

Hypnotherapy is often successful when other, more conventional methods of treatment have failed and it is estimated that approximately 85% of people of all age groups will readily respond to clinical hypnotherapy.
